Ganglion

A ganglion is a small sac filled with fluid and is usually attached to the lining of a joint or tendon. Ganglion forms when tissues surrounding certain joints become inflamed and swell up with lubricating fluid. They are most common in women nearly 3 times and 70% occur in the late teens and young adulthood. Most commonly, ganglions are seen on the wrist (usually the back side) and fingers, but they can also develop on the shoulder, elbow, and knee. They can increase in size or can disappear spontaneously. These masses or cysts, however, are not tumors or non-cancerous. Ganglions are usually painless. However, the condition can become painful when the ganglion presses nerves. This pain can restrict the range of movements and activity of an individual.

G.E.R.D (Gastro-Esophageal Reflux Disorder )

  • Gastroesophageal reflux is the return of the stomach’s contents back up into the esophagus.
  • In normal digestion, the lower esophageal sphincter (LES) opens to allow food to pass into the stomach and closes to prevent food and acidic stomach juices from flowing back into the esophagus. Gastroesophageal reflux occurs when the LES is weak or relaxes inappropriately, allowing the stomach’s contents to flow up into the esophagus.

Dyslexia

Dyslexia means “difficulty with words”.Dyslexia or word Blindness may be discovered when a child learns to read. It is a disorder due to a flaw in the child’s perception. Great personalities like Einstien were also affected by Dyslexia. Dyslexia is a specific learning disorder where some disturbances in brain functioning pose difficulty with one’s ability to read. These individuals typically read and write at levels significantly lower than expected despite having normal intelligence. Immediate memory or working memory is an attribute of the brain that saves information and ideas we are working with. Dyslexics have some functional impairment of the brain that poses difficulty in processing information and pieces of information get lost on the way
Very often dyslexia used to be mistaken for mental retardation now dyslexia is no longer an alien word where 5 to 12 percent of school children are believed to be dyslexic.

About This

The Patients:

  • As their perceptual ability is weak, numbers written on the board do not mean anything to them. Frequently, the problem is one of mirror Image for example, the alphabet “b” appears as “d” or if inverted image where “p” is mistaken for “b”. Although the disorder varies from person to person, common characteristics among people with dyslexia are letter or word reversals when reading or writing (such as pat/tap, b/d, p/q)
  • Difficulty in comprehending written or spoken directions;
  • Difficulty understanding or remembering what is said to them or what they have just read;
  • Difficulty expressing their thoughts on paper.
  • Dyslexics take extra time to get information across and complete the task. At the same time, the memory of the dyslexics tends to be exceptionally good, in fact, many children substitute memory for reading. They ask their parents or somebody to read stories aloud to them and memorize the text or the contents.

Down Syndrome

Down syndrome (also called Trisomy 21) is a genetic disorder that occurs in approximately 1 of 800 live births. It is the leading cause of cognitive impairment. Down syndrome is associated with mild to moderate learning disabilities, developmental delays, characteristic facial features, and low muscle tone in early infancy. Many individuals with Down syndrome also have heart defects, leukemia, early-onset Alzheimer’s disease, gastro-intestinal problems, and other health issues. The symptoms of Down syndrome range from mild to severe. Life expectancy for individuals with Down syndrome has dramatically increased over the past few decades as medical care and social inclusion have improved. A person with Down syndrome in good health will on average live to age 55 or beyond.

About This

Increased Quality of Life with Homeopathy
Being a genetic disease in itself, it is but understandable that Down syndrome can not be “cured” by any system of medicine, until and unless something is done about the culprit genes involved. Though, Homoeopathy, being an individualistic and holistic science, promises some tremendous upliftment in day-to-day lives of the children suffering from Down syndrome. If caught young, these kids can be saved from a lot of miseries and more so, their over all process of mental and physical development can be given a good positive thrust by the sweet Homoeopathic pills. Children with Down syndrome, apart from some congenital malformations, are not only born “ill” in the first place, but that they are in a constant process of development and change during their life. Also, these individuals are ever and always confronted with new developmental impulses during their life, which might lead to conflicts and painful experiences with different reactions (i.e. disease).
With the modesty of homeopathy’s prognostic predication and holistic consideration of the human with body, mind and soul, homeopathy as complementary medicine is also an important support for the amelioration of life quality in patients with Down syndrome.
Very importantly also, Individuals with Down syndrome should be fully included in family and community life. It is very important to stimulate, encourage, and educate children with Down syndrome from infancy. Programs for young children with special needs are offered in many communities. Early intervention programs, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy can be very helpful.
Like all children, children with Down syndrome greatly benefit from being able to learn and explore in a safe and supportive environment. Being included in family, community, and preschool life will help a child with Down syndrome develop to his or her full potential.

Diabetes mellitus is a syndrome (group/set of symptoms) characterized by an increased level of sugar (glucose) in the blood due to deficiency or inactivity of hormone ‘Insulin’ that is absolutely necessary to monitor the glucose metabolism of the body. Diabetes is a worldwide disease and if not attended properly leads to serious complications. IDDM (Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus) or Type 1 diabetes is result of decreased production of hormone ‘Insulin’ by the pancreas (the organ that synthesizes insulin). Various factors including viral infections, stress, certain foods are known to trigger or aggravate the condition. But the root cause is disturbance of immune system where body’s own defense mechanism starts attacking body’s own organs and tissues. Some genetic factors and inborn errors are at the basis of this alteration in the immunity. Type I Diabetes is a constitutional disorder as it is an offshoot of constitutional defects (genetic factors, altered immunity) having an impact on the entire constitution of an individual. Hence it calls for an in-depth constitutional approach for its management.

Signs and Symptoms of Diabetes Mellitus include :-

  • Increased urination with smell
  • Increased thirst
  • General drowsiness
  • Weight Gain / Weight Loss
  • Slow or non-healing wounds
  • Recurrent Boils
  • Tingling and numbness in extremities
  • Difficult vision
