Acne / Pimples

Acne or pimples is a common occurrence on the skin more on the face and back also called Hives in young individuals during teenage years and youth years.

There can be many types of acne:-

  • Acne Rosacea
  • Acne Vulgaris,
  • Acne Conglobata
  • Nodular Acne.

Acne may present as small, tender red bumps on the skin with no head or as pustular eruptions. In certain varieties, nodular eruptions develop and these heal with scarring.

Parts of body:-
The rashes are common over the skin of the face, upper chest and back. Scarring or marks are left on skin where the patient has a tendency to “pick” the acne.

Due to the hormonal changes taking place in the body during these years, eruptions called pimples appear on the facial skin. Acne is basically caused due to the blockage of the ducts of the sebaceous (oil) glands in the skin. This leads to retention of the oily secretion of the glands in the skin itself and when this gets infected with bacteria, it causes the formation of pustular eruptions. Thus acne is caused by the inflammatory process involving the sebaceous glands and hair follicles.

  • Increased secreation of oily sebum by the skin
  • comedones
  • papules
  • nodules (large papules)
  • pustules
  • painful erruptions
  • Avoid highly spicy food which causes irritation and inflammation which results in erruptions
  • Avoid alcoholism
  • Take light diet
  • Drink required amount of liquids
  • Avoid Stress by taking Psychological therapy or counseling

Acne or pimples is nothing but an expression of the inner hormonal process, which requires treatment at the inner level rather than treating it by local application only of cream or antibiotics. Homeopathy offers excellent treatment in the cases of acne, which is effective, harmless and without any side-effects. It also helps in healing the old scars and the complexion of the face also improves. Homeopathy offers extremely effective treatment for acne, during all the stages, including the obstinate versions such as nodular acne. Results can be seen with the photographs of the patients before and after treatment in testmonials. Suggested Investigations :- Blood Routine , LFT, Stool Analysis.

Acidity or Acid Peptic Disease or Heart Burn or Dyspepsia

The stomach normally secretes acid that is essential in the digestive process. This acid helps in breaking down the food during digestion. When there is excess production of acid in the stomach, it results in the condition known as acidity or APD. Normally, there are some protective mechanisms against the acid, in the stomach and proximal intestine. But an imbalance between the protective mechanisms and the level of acid secretion can cause acidity.

A weakness of the valve between the stomach and oesophagus (food pipe) can cause a reflux of the acid from the stomach to the lower part of the oesophagus. This gastro-oesophageal reflux can cause heart-burn. Sometimes, a heavy meal or increase in intra-abdominal pressure such as while straining or lifting weights, can bring about this reflux. Excess acid secretion can also cause acidity and ulcers, when the normal protective lining of the stomach and duodenum (the part of the intestine that joins the stomach), is damaged. The resulting ulcer is called gastric ulcer if it is in the stomach and duodenal ulcer if it is in the duodenum. Any kind of break down in the defense mechanisms that protect the stomach and intestine from damage by acid can cause acidity. The body secretes bicarbonate into the mucous layer, which neutralises the acid. Hormone-like substances known as prostaglandins, help to keep the blood vessels in the stomach dilated, ensuring adequate blood flow. Lack of adequate blood flow to the stomach may contribute to ulcers. Prostaglandins are also believed to stimulate bicarbonate and mucous production, which help protect the stomach. Consumption of alcohol, highly spicy foodstuffs, irregular food habits, and Non Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) also predispose to gastric acidity. There is a higher incidence of acidity in highly emotional and nervous individuals. It is also more common in the developed and industrialized nations, though a recent increase in incidence has also occurred in the developing countries.

The main symptoms of acidity are Heartburn and Dyspepsia.

  • Heartburn is characterized by a deeply placed, burning pain in the chest behind the sternum (breast-bone).
  • It occurs after meals and is precipitated by increase in intra-abdominal pressure like straining or lifting weights.
  • It is more common at night when a person is lying down.
  • Heartburn is usually relieved when the person sits up.
  • Regurgitation of the gastric contents may also occur.

The symptoms of ulcers are mainly pain that can be either localized or diffuse. Sometimes it radiates to the back or to the chest.

  • Dyspepsia is a burning or an aching pain in the upper abdomen, sometimes described as a stabbing sensation penetrating through the gut.
  • In rare cases there may be no pain, but only a feeling of indigestion, fullness, bloating, flatulence or nausea. When the cause is a duodenal ulcer, having a meal usually relieves the pain. But in the case of a gastric ulcer there may be no change, or the pain may become worse after eating.
  • Peptic ulcer disease can sometimes occur without symptoms. Symptoms may also arise when there is no ulcer present, which is known as non-ulcer dyspepsia.

Acidity can be prevented by avoiding the known causative factors like alcohol consumption, spicy foods, drugs like NSAID’s, steroids etc. Regular eating habits and a healthy diet can prevent acidity. People with a highly nervous and emotional disposition and those involved in high-stress jobs could opt for a change in their lifestyle and reduce the stress.

Treatment of the root cause with constituional homoeopathic Remedy, Change in life style. Follw the Do’s and Dont’s properly. Homoeopathy has got very good results in treating this. The medicine can prevent the ulceration also. The bland ddiet is highly recomended. with Absolutely avoiding Sicy, Fried, Excessive Non vegetarian food. Must avoid Beverages like excessive Tea, Coffee. Smoking and drnking Alcohal should be avoided.

While a doctor may be able to diagnose a simple case of acidity from the medical history, more detailed investigations may be necessary to detect the presence of ulcers in the stomach and the duodenum. The doctor will take a detailed history of use of drugs such as NSAIDs, a history of family members with ulcers, alcohol consumption and smoking to determine the causes of acidity. An assessment of a person’s stress level is also important to reach a diagnosis. A doctor may request an Upper Gastrointestinal Endoscopy to detect the presence of ulcers. If Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome is suspected, blood levels of gastrin may be measured. Barium Meal studies are useful as these may reveal an inflammation, active ulcer craters, or deformities and scarring due to ulcers. In some cases, a doctor may also request a biopsy of an ulcer, to rule out a cancer.

A R D S Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome

Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) is a syndrome of severe respiratory failure associated with pulmonary infiltrates, similar to infant hyaline membrane disease. The 1994 American-European Consensus Committee defines ARDS as the acute onset of bilateral infiltrates on chest radiography, a partial pressure of arterial oxygen (PaO2) to a fraction of inspired oxygen (FIO2) ratio of less than 200 mm Hg, and a pulmonary artery occlusion pressure of less than 18, or the absence of clinical evidence of left arterial hypertension. To put it simply, ARDS is the presence of pulmonary edema in the absence of volume overload or depressed left ventricular function.

ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) MND (Motor Neuron Disease)

Motor Neuron Diseases(MND) are a group of neurological disorders that selectively affect motor neurons, the cells that control voluntary muscle activity including speaking, walking, breathing, swallowing, and general movement of the body.

ALS ( Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) or MND ( Motor Neuron Disease) is a fast-progressing degenerative disease or devastating illness that leads to progressive paralysis and eventual death. It is considered to be an Incurable disease where medical science does not have anything to offer even in arresting the fast progression.

In this field through Homoeopathy at AKGsOVIHAMS Medical Centre some encouraging results have been obtained, though not a cure but certainly improvement has been seen in many cases, which has made me to explore more and conduct research.

MND refers to a group of diseases that affect motor neurons. In the United States, MND is more commonly called Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), or Lou u Gehrig’s disease, after the basketball player. ALS/MND refers to a specific subset of pathologically identical diseases; other diseases of the motor neuron that should not be confused with ALS/MND include spinobulbar muscular atrophy, spinal muscular atrophy, Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, and many others.
A French Neurologist, Jean-Martin Charcot, first suggested grouping together disparate conditions that affect the lateral horn of the spinal cord in 1869.

CANCER of SIGMOID COLON

Colon cancer is a type of cancer that begins in the large intestine (colon). The colon is the final part of the digestive tract.

Colon cancer typically affects older adults, though it can happen at any age. It usually begins as small, noncancerous (benign) clumps of cells called polyps that form on the inside of the colon. Over time some of these polyps can become colon cancers.

Fatty Liver

  • Fatty liver disease is a condition in which fat builds up in the liver. There are two main types: Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and Alcoholic fatty liver disease, also called alcoholic steatohepatitis.
  • It is a condition also called as Hepatosteatosis.
  • It includes increased build-up of fat in the liver.

AMOEBIASIS

A type of gastro is a cause of diarrhoea among travellers. It is caused by a parasite known as Entamoeba histolytica ( Ent.Histolytica) that infects the bowel. Amoebiasis most commonly affects young to middle-aged adults. Proper handwashing helps prevent the spread of amoebiasis.

It is a parasitic infection of the colon with the amoeba Entamoeba histolytica.

Amoebiasis infection is most common in tropical areas with untreated water. It spreads through drinking or eating uncooked food, such as fruit, that may have been washed in contaminated local water. If symptoms occur, they may be mild and include cramping and diarrhoea. Bloody stools, fever and, rarely, liver abscess may occur in severe cases.
