Iodine Deficiency Disorders – Seminar & Camp on Homoeopathy & Psychology held at IIMC on 1st Anniversary of AKGsOVIHAMS Medical Centre at Pitampura
AKGsOVIHAMS in association with IIMC organised a Seminar on Iodine Deficiency Disorders with a Camp on Homoeopathy and Psycholgy with Free Pathological test for TSH. It was held in the Auditorium of IIMC between 10 am to 1pm on 22nd October, 2018.
DG IIMC Sh.K.G.Suresh and Founder Director AKGsOVIHAMS Prof.Dr A.K.Gupta said that Govt. of India is also running a program on need for Micronutrients in the country. The aim behind this day is to generate awareness of adequate use of iodine and to highlight the consequences of iodine deficiency. The seminar having the same goal was opened by DG, IIMC, Sh K G Suresh who emphasized on prevention part & said,” Prevention is always better than cure & we have to take care of diet to ensure proper intake of iodine”.
As October 21 is observed as the World Iodine Deficiency Prevention Day, AKGsOVIHAMS Medical Centre Pitam Pura celebrated its 1st Anniversary also by organising this camp and offering the services of its Team of Professionals.
Dr.(Prof.)A.K.Gupta,MD(Hom.), Founder Director, AKGsOVIHAMS (Om Vidya Institute of Homoeopathy and Allied Medical Sciences said that Iodine is A micronutrient required for the normal functioning of the brain and endocrine function specially of the thyroid gland. Deficiency of Iodine can lead to Abortions ; Still Birth, Birth Defects , Incomplete Foetal Brain Development or Damage ; Retorted Mental or Physical Growth ; Goitre ; Low IQ level and Poor Learning Abilities etc . For this Govt. of India recommends the sale of Iodised Salt .
Dr A.K Gupta said that there has been Research which says that Homoeopathy has been effective in treating Thyroid patients. Prof Dr A K Gupta founder of AKGsOVIHAMS who discussed about the depth of Homoeopathy & said, “Homoeopathy does not only provide treatment but it can play a pivotal role in prevention of fatal diseases & that’s why for disorders caused due to iodine deficiency even if it is genetic, Homoeopathy works as panacea”. He further emphasized on awareness of the right cause & treatment of various diseases related to deficiency of iodine & disorders related to thyroid.
Kaartik Gupta, M.Phil( Cl.Psy) Clinical Psychologist apprised the gathering with the Mental and Psychological issues experienced by the patients like irritability, Mood swings, Forgetfulness, Mental Fatigue and Learning Difficulties in children, which can be helped with proper diagnosis and Psychotherapy along with the both Homoeopathic and Conventional treatment. Dr.Nishit Gupta,MD (Path) said that there is a need to understand the Pathological tests required in such patients. Many patients get the Tests arbitrarily without understanding which particular tests are actually needed. He cautioned to be precise with Lab investigations.
